Comments: The author was a trooper with the 5th Light Horse AIF. This diary tells of his own experiences in the desert during WWI and describes in detail the campaign.
With the outbreak of war, in 1914 he returned to Townsville and enlisted in the 5th Light Horse Regiment, AIF, as a trooper. He saw action in Palestine, Sinai and Turkey, being wounded at Beersheba and Gallipoli – where he acted as spotter for noted sniper Billy Sing.
Good Condition – Port Adelaide Institute label attached to the front cover and the inside of the front end page. Faded name top right corner of the title page with a small chip to the page same area. Tape marks on the inside of the front and rear covers and slack spine.
