Comments: The detailed history of the Armoured Fighting Vehicle School and School of Armour – Royal Australian Armoured Corps 1941 to 2011.
This is a commemorative history published to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the School of Armour. The School is Victoria’s longest serving military unit other than Victorian Barracks.
It’s history traces the Schools development from 1941 to the current day. Its content is a mix of specially written pieces to short recollection of people, places events and equipment.
The book has been broadly organised into decade chapters and the contributors vary from outstanding identities to humble trainees.
It has not been designed as a serious study of the School’s development but as a celebration of seventy years of continuous achievement and change.
The book is richly illustrated with material that dates from 1941 to 2011.
