Comments: This is the extraordinary account and personal narrative of Captain William Ambrose Cull of the 22nd Battalion AIF. He enlisted into the AIF in 1915 and joined the 23rd Battalion AIF and was later commissioned into the 22nd Battalion.

This book covers his exploits during the Somme campaign and includes his actions at Pozieres, Fleurbaix and Armentieres.

He was awarded the Italian Silver Medal for conspicuous gallantry in the execution of repeated reconnaissances in No Man’s Land at Fleurbaix and Armentieres and again at Pozieres and Les Boeufs.

Main faults consist of a 3cm tear bottom of page 43/44 and a 2cm tear bottom of page 39/40, some stains to about 30 pages in the book, last two black end papers creased and sheath wear to the edges of the boards.  Tightly bound, stains to pages do not affect the legibility of the text.
