Admiral Sir Victor Alfred Trumper Smith, AC, KBE, CB, DSC (9 May 1913 – 10 July 1998) was a senior officer in the Royal Australian Navy.
Generally acknowledged as the father of the Royal Australian Fleet Air Arm (FAA), Sir Victor Smith was an outstanding leader, greatly respected, and a man of rare ability and distinction. He spent just short of 49-years in the navy – from 1927 as a cadet midshipman until retiring with the rank of Admiral in 1975.
