This is a collection of diaries and letters written by an Australian pilot and edited by his two children. John F Jackson was a Queensland grazier and businessman who joined the RAAF in 1939. He served with RAAF No. 3 Squadron in the Middle East. Returning to Australia, he was given command of 75 Squadron. He met his death leading that squadron in its heroic defence of Port Moresby early in 1942.
