Comments: This collection of material documents the changes which occurred within the structure of Queensland’s military and naval forces between 1860 and 1903.
It provides a lineage of all the individual units which made up and contributed to the development of the Forces. It identifies these units, the changes in their designations and, where possible, what became of them when the Commonwealth of Australia took control of the colonial defence force. The information is tabulated under the town where the unit was established, and then arranged chronologically. To provide context, snapshots of the structure of the Force at various intervals during its history are contained in the Appendix.
