Comments: Based on the author’s many visits to Turkey and Gallipoli, this is a moving, inspiring, occasionally hilarious, and always practical roadmap to the heart the Gallipoli experience.

Tony Wright first travelled to Gallipoli with an Australian prime minister at the start of this century. He found himself intrigued by the swelling crowds of mainly young people at Old Anzac. He has returned again and again over the decade, shouldering a backpack containing his great-uncle’s Gallipoli diary. Along the way he has fallen in love with Istanbul and the vast nation of Turkey.

He has learned the secrets of both Istanbul and the Gallipoli region, and explored the underground wonderland of Cappadocia, while meeting many colourful and memorable characters on his journey.

This entertaining and informative travel adventure will inspire you to pack your bags, fly to Istanbul and follow the author’s every footstep through Turkey and the Gallipoli Peninsula.

Walking the Gallipoli Peninsula is a completely revised and updated edition of the bestselling Turn Right at Istanbul.
